I know it’s over

Yes, I’m still alive. I’ve been busy busy busy with work the last 7 weeks, but now high season is over, so I have a bit of spare time left again! I promise I’ll update more soon, specially now I have more time on my hands.
With all the (extra) money I’ve made over the summer I bought a new camera: the Canon Eos 7D :D It’s amazing <3 I bought it today, the picture above is one of the first pictures taken with it. I really like it (both the picture and the camera) and the video option is amazing!
I’ll post more later this week, this is just a short update to let you know that I do still intend to update this blog. Now I’m tired because this has been a long, tiring day (even though I had a day off).

Mini update

Hello, I’m still alive but I haven’t been able to update the blog sooner. My life right now is all about work, and hardly about any fun! Although I do enjoy my days off, I don’t really do much, not even taking pictures! So I haven’t got much to post, actually. In 4 weeks I will get my life back, but for now it’s all about work. I don’t really mind though, that way I can save up money for a new camera. I really want the Canon EOS 7D, but it’s really expensive. If the 60D comes out soon, I’ll probably go for that one. I’ve been waiting for it for ages though! I have also bought a new phone, a smartphone so I can actually use it for internet and apps. It should arrive Thuesday, I’m very excited!

My hair is growing fast! As you can see the roots are gigantic and the shaved part is already tons longer. I still really like it! I haven’t dyed my hair for almost 3 months now! I’m proud of myself ;)

A little dead bird and a pug t-shirt, yes really.

Today I finally had a day off, I spent the day reading and shopping. I bought an amazing pug t-shirt (people who know me, know how much I adore those little ugly creatures ;)) and way too much other stuff as well! When I went home I found this little dead bird on the pavement, it was so tiny! I picked it up to put it in the bushes, afraid that it would be crushed under someone’s feet otherwise. Sure, it will most likely get eaten by a cat or dog anyway, but still, I couldn’t bare the thought of seeing it crushed on the pavement! It was so soft and light, and still warm too! It had probably died 30 minutes or so ago.
I haven’t been doing much interesting, only work work work!

The amazing pug shirt, gotta love sale! Also bought the denim blouse, it has a flower print. Not sure if I’ll keep it though, it’s a bit tight at the arms, but it was the last one (sale again, yes). I keep buying tons of clothes while I hardly have the time to wear them! I wish I had a job where I could wear my own clothes :(

And yes that pug is wearing a tiny hat and a bowtie :D

Bought new headbands for 50 cents :D Yes my hair looks unwashed, that is because it’s in desperate need of a wash ;) It looks really fried as well but I also bought a new conditioner today! Hopefully it will look better soon ;)

I have tons of those headbands, I love them so much. Too bad they make my head hurrrrt though :( And I also got new glasses, they were really cheap as I bought the frame at Claire’s for only 2 euro! (Glasses were 30), it’s ridiculously big though! And really reddish.. but I still like them! Not sure if I’d wear them often but still :P (And yes I look like Quasimodo on that picture, it looks so weird haha!)

Big party at work last week, wasn’t very exciting, but I took some pictures. I liked this one :)

Using Christmas decoration as a headband is the best thing ever ;) I wouldn’t go outside looking like that, but it’s still nice on a picture. Been wanting to use it since.. Christmas, really -_-

New headband and stuff

An update earlier than planned! Today I received my camera’s remote in the mail: superfast! I ordered it about a week ago, and it has already arrived, all the way from Hong Kong. It costs 3 euro, that is including shipping and batteries, crazy! My old remote costs 30 euro, and I spend 10 euro alone on new batteries. If I had known this, I would have ordered the ‘fake’ one from eBay immediately. Now I’m stuck with expensive batteries I can’t use! Oh well, at least I have a remote again :)

Also bought a new headband, which is ofcourse a good reason to take pictures ;) It’s so pretty!

It’s still really hot here, although it’s thundering and raining right now. It’s not raining that hard, but I do hope it will cool down a bit. It’s getting unbearable! :( Thank god I have a fan!

I’m loving my hair right now, I can’t wait to grow it all out for a few months so I can finally have healthy hair in my very own haircolour! After that I’ll bleach it again, ofcourse ;) But it’s fun :)

Testing out the new remote. As you can tell I really love hair accessories! It’s also too hot to wear glasses, but contacts are so annoying sometimes. I have also bought a new dress. And new shorts, shirts, glasses.. I’ll make a post about those soon :)

Fresh strawberries are the best thing ever!

I cooked myself some dinner and it looked (and tasted) so delicious that I had to take a picture of it! I need to cook more often, I wish I didn’t hate cooking so much (or that I’m so lazy ;))

I’m downloading True Blood right now, I need another cheesy tv-show now I’ve finished all the Glee eps :(

Look at me, I’m a polar bear: hear me roar! ;) That is the most warm and softest vest I own, I love it! It immediately reminded me of a polar bear.
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to post a lot more the last week, since I took tons of useless pictures! But I had to work the last couple of days so no blogging. Till now! I really like blogging with a certain theme, but this time it’s just tons of pictures scrambled together.
Tomorrow one day of work left and then I’m 4 days off! I want to go to school, going to look at the graduation show (it’s not officially opened yet, but I just can’t wait! it’s a 5 minute walk from my house anyway), desperately need to clean up my room, need to catch up with Glee (I’m hooked!!), see friends and also make a plan for the future. Lately I’ve been working only 3 days a week, so I figured it would be a great time to make steps towards a more ‘creative’ career :) We’ll see how it goes!
That being said, I miss my camera’s remote control dearly :(

Lately I’m really into big, oversized shirts! They’re amazing, although I don’t exactly know why. My style is a bit of everything: at some days I like to wear a cute dress or skirt and look all feminine, on other days I just like to wear pants, hats and oversized shirts! I even bought short pants (like shorts, but longer ;)) at the thriftstore! It has flowers on it, which is the only reason I bought it. I’m not really into short pants.. don’t think it’s my style ;) But then again, what is? Will post pictures soon!

My dad’s glasses, I decided to take an artsy picture out of boredom ;D Those glasses have the same prescription as mine, as you can see it’s a bit crazy :P That is the biggest reason I hate wearing glasses: they make my eyes so tiny :( I love glasses though!

My brother has graduated high school so we went out to eat! It was really nice :)

Tons of books (and tons of pictures)

Today I went to my grandparents. My grandfather is a huge collector of books: he has two big sheds full of them! Books are his life, his passion, and he loves talking about them and shows me the most random books :) However, he is quiet stingy, in a weird way. When he can’t sell a book, he’d rather burn it than give it away! There is a place in the meadow-land that I’d like to call the ‘book mortuarium”.
Anyway, I always love taking pictures there, so many photogenic things around! Talking about pictures, I’m saving up for a new camera. I really want the Canon Eos 60D (okay, if we’re talking about cameras I’d really want I’d really like a 5D II.. or a digital/non-digital Hasselblad or a Leica or… let’s just talk about things I can sort of afford ;)). I know it’s not out yet, but I hope it will come out soon. I really like the features the 50D has, but I really want a HD filming function, just like all the new cameras nowadays have. Can’t wait!

Bright Star

From the first minute I watched that movie I KNEW I had to make a post about it! I really loved it and the cinematography is just so stunning. I made a few screencaps, and although the quality is crappy and there aren’t many, but I still thought they were worth posting.

A lot of random things

Well, at all good things comes an end! My most beloved polkadot headphones died, unfortunately (to be honest, they are really cute but they hurt my ears :P) so I had to buy new ones. Turns out that my camera’s remote has died as well, so I can’t take any proper selfportraits anymore. I’m a bit sick of taking selfportraits/lame pictures anyway, so I’m thinking about quitting my 52 weeks project, or going on a Flickr hiatus for a while. I only want to upload pictures that I’m proud off, that I really like, you know?

Anyway, I haven’t posted in a while and I haven’t been taking really interesting pictures. I will do my utter best to take some interesting ones soon, I promise! I’m also thinking about posting more themed posts, it’s all a bit too random for my taste now!

Now onto the things that do work: my new wacom tablet! After studying illustration for 4,5 years, I finally got one. Not sure how much I will use it, but it was really cheap and it’s just awesome to have one. It will come handy one day, I can feel it!

New boots I found at the thriftstore for only 3 euro, such a nice catch :)

A new dress (one of the many I’ve bought lately) that I looooooove and a part of my room! It’s only 15m2 and I live in small space, as you can see it’s a mess and I have a lot of stuff. I can’t wait till I get my own apartment, but that will probably take at least 2 years :( I’m trying not to think about that!

Last week I was at my parents and I found my dad’s glasses from the 80′s! The funny thing is that’s exactly the same prescription as my own glasses. So I can perfectly see through it, such a coincidence, isn’t it? My parents wanted to throw it out but now it’s mine. Not that I wear it in public, but it’s always a nice accessoire for a party or anything ;)
Also bleached my roots, it looks so much better now! I really like my hair atm :)

Here’s my dad wearing the exact same glasses at my parents’ wedding! I just found out that those are the same glasses :D

I have an addiction, yes.

I collect lots of things, I really am a collector. It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of thrift-stores, I visit the ones in my area at least once a week and I’m a huge sucker for flea markets. However, at one point I grew up and realized that I couldn’t bring everything with me! If you’ll stand in my room, you’ll definitely notice that I have a lot, A LOT, of stuff! I collect all kinds of different things, and one of those weird things is: hairproducts! I love buying hairproducts like a crazy old nerdy man cherishes his post stamps! Today I bought some new products (again) and decided to take a picture of the things I use at the moment. Yes, at the moment. I have to admit that I have at least 5 other shampoos, hair masks, conditioners.. and styling products! I have tons of styling products left, and hairdye! It used to be much worse, I’ve thrown so many prodcuts away in the past. I could go on forever. Here’s a picture of the things I use at the moment..

When you have platinum hair, you’ll soon learn that it requires A LOT of upkeep! When I dye my hair a different colour (like with henna!) I only use a simple shampoo, conditioner and like one bottle of styling product, that’s it! But with (damaged, ouch) whiteblonde hair? Well then I use: two different kinds of purple shampoo (one is less harsh than the other.. one is better for my hair than the other etc.), a purple conditioner, a hair mask (two this time, a ‘normal’ one and one with purple dye in it, to cancel the yellow out), a deep repairing leave in lotion, coconut oil (best thing ever, makes your hair soft and shiny! and.. greasy? ew!), hairvitamins (which I always forget to take!) and last but definitely not least: bleach! I use expensive bleach this time, normally I use really cheap bleach. Platinum hair, it really is a huge investment :P I want everyone to think it through thoroughly before bleaching your hair ;)
I can’t help it, every time I see something that smells nice, has a nice package or just promises me to heal my hair.. I just have to buy it! I’m also addicted to anything that says ‘de-yellowing’ :D
And if it’s not a hair product, than it’s dye! I have no idea why I’m so obsessed with my hair, but I just am! :P

I also loooove hair accessoires! One of my favourites are feather headbands! I buy the feather pads at Etsy and glue them on a headband myself. They’re so pretty :)

And now for something completely different, a small outfit picture! (I know this post has a lot of Myspace selfportraits going on ;)) I bought the jacket at the thrift store, I love it!

Now I’m off, going to catch up with a friend with a nice glass of wine. It was such nice weather today, so I’ll finish the day in summerstyle ;)

(and yes I still like to make my pictures look really blue/purpleish.. it’s just a phase ;))

Spring is here!

A cherry blossom tree nearby my house is in bloom and I couldn’t resist taking pictures! I just had to take a few selfportraits, if only for the pretty pink bokeh! I know, I’m kinda bokeh-addicted ;) It’s finally starting to get a bit warmer again, not for long though, we still live in The Netherlands :(
These pictures are quiet cliché and all that jazz, but I just wanted to upload something pretty ;)
Yesterday I watched The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus and it was really good! I can definitely recommend that movie, specially when you look arty movies. I also saw Alice In Wonderland (3D) and it was nice, not very special, but I liked it! The 3D was a bit disappointing though, so I say: save yourself some money and go see it in 2D ;)
Now I’m going to watch the new episode of Lost :D Only a few episodes left and then it’s all over :(

This is a weird and non flattering picture, but it shows my favourite jacket which I can now wear again <3 And my favourite shirt! This is also my favourite combination haha. I love combining prints, I’m a print addict!
