Today I had a bad hair day… I guess a lot of people have those, but I never really experienced those when I had short hair. (As in, real short hair, a pixie!) Well, I had my ‘hair that sticks straight up’ bed hair, but I just had to put my head under the tap and voila, done! I always hated that though, so I’m glad I don’t have that problem anymore! But now my hair is a bit longer, but not long enough to put in a ponytail yet, it can be a bit annoying. My biggest problem is it being either wavy in REALLY annoying way (sometimes it looks like I have wings on my head instead of hair ugh) or it’s really really flat and lifeless.
Lately I’ve been this close to chopping it all off, but I still haven’t! :D Today was one of those days, but instead I decided to braid it and take pictures of it and dedicate a blog update about it ;)

My hair right now. I’ve been growing it for 10 months and it’s been a total pain in the ass due to previous bleaching. Platinum hair is awesome, you guys, but so so damaging. Specially if you have fine hair like me!
That awesome granny sweater is from Wibra by the way. (For the Dutchies: yes I do buy clothes there and am not embarrassed, at all :D <3 Wibra.. and de Zeeman ;))

One of my favourite hairproducts is ‘Dirty’ by Lush. They call it a ‘hair cream’, it’s more like a shaper, I guess. It smells really nice (according to my co-worker it smells like Droomvlucht, but apparently ‘Dirty’ is a part of a line for men! I don’t think of fairies when I think of men, honestly haha) but it’s quite sticky. However, it gives me a lot of volume without drying my hair out like crazy :)

And coconut oil! <3 I looove it, it's the best thing ever for my hair :D You can also use it for cooking and I use it in my soap recipes. Multifunctional!

Braids at either side of my head. Can’t wait till I can make a crownbraid.. ONE DAY!

More braid! It starts very thin and ends up thicker.. the problem is still the short layers. I can’t really make a thick braid yet because it would never hold! I used the Dutch braiding technique by the way. Which is the reverse version of French braiding. I find Dutch braiding is easier and it holds better when you have short layers!

And just for fun.. my hair last year! What a difference. I still love platinum hair and I always will, I guess. It just took me 3 times before I realized that it was absolutely destroying my hair :( Some people’s hair is stronger than others! My hair just doesn’t take bleach that well… Anyway, 10 months ago, when I started my ‘hair-growing-out’ journey, I also made hair journal. So I could keep track of EVERYTHING, like the products I liked, how my hair reacts to things, how hard it grows, etc. I know, that sounds a bit obsessive, but I tend to get obsessed with things quite fast. For example, I just finished A Dance With Dragons and thus the A Song Of Ice And Fire series.. I felt SAD the next day. Sad because I finished some books! Sigh.. I’m now re-watching the tv-show Game Of Thrones though and plan on rereading book 1 & 2 before season 2 starts in April ;) I guess I’ll have to entertain myself for a bit!
Anyway, about that hairjournal, you can read about it here (I seriously typed hair, incidentally!): http://myboringhair.tumblr.com Yes it is called my boring hair because I do have a bit of self-knowledge ;)
